The Ordinance received 10 Yes votes and 0 No votes, and will go back to the City Council one more time for a “Second Reading” next Friday, March 18, 2011. The Code Studies Section has released a new DRAFT ordinance known as “Multiple Approvals Procedural Revisions”. This involves applications for development that require more than one approval. We have heard at PlanCheck meetings that the goal is to align those approvals so they can be heard together instead of at different times. The City Planning Department has published the proposed onsite shopping cart containtment ordinance and scheduled a staff hearing on March 31, 2011. Neighborhood Councils may wish to agendize and review this ordinance, submit comments to City Planning and participate at the staff hearing. The Planning Department is considering a new Modified Parking Requirement (MPR) Supplemental Use District. The draft ordinance is being released along with the CEQA publication.
