Downtown Community Plan Update
We are pleased to share that the Planning and Land Use Management (PLUM) Committee, at its special meeting on April 24, 2023, voted unanimously to recommend the adoption of the Downtown Community Plan and the new Zoning Code with a few amendments. Thanks to your committed engagement, the Plan is now another step closer to adoption!
The Downtown Community Plan and new Zoning Code will now go before the full City Council for final adoption at the City Council’s meeting on May 3, 2023. The City Council will consider the Downtown Community Plan and new Zoning Code that was recommended by the City Planning Commission with the amendments adopted by the PLUM Committee. These amendments are summarized here.
The PLUM Committee recommended adoption of the CPC approved Downtown Community Plan and New Zoning Code, inclusive of findings, resolutions, and ordinanceswith modifications as shown in the Council File document dated September 29, 2022 and identified as, “Exhibit F.6 Director of Planning Memo to the PLUM Committee,” and all optional modifications as shown in the Council File document dated March 30, 2023, and identified as, “Exhibit F.7 Director of Planning Memo”. In addition, the PLUM Committee adopted a majority of the amendments requested in the letters from Council District 1dated April 21, 2023, Council District 9 dated April 21, 2023 and Council District 14 dated April 21, 2023. Per the PLUM Committee’s action, modifications in the comment letters from the Council Districts supersede the modifications outlined in the two Director of Planning’s Memo to PLUM Committee, where they conflict.
