Re: New Committee Assignments
Dear Ms. Wolcott:
In my capacity as Council President, I am making new committee assignments as specified
in the list below. These assignments are subject to the Council’s approval of a resolution
that I will introduce next week pursuant to Charter Section 242(b) to establish the
committees and their respective jurisdictions.
I anticipate that some of the existing committee names will be changed, as follows:
● Immigrant Affairs, Civil Rights, and Equity will become Civil Rights, Equity, Aging,
and Disability
● Economic Development and Jobs will become Economic and Community
Development
● Energy, Climate Change, Environmental Justice, and River will become Energy and
Environment
● Information, Technology, and General Services will become Government Operations
● Arts, Parks, Health, Education and Neighborhoods will become Neighborhoods and
Community Enrichment
● Personnel, Audits, and Animal Welfare will become Personnel, Audits, and Hiring
● Homelessness and Poverty Committee and Housing Committee will be consolidated
and become Housing and Homelessness
● Additionally, I am discontinuing the Ad Hoc Committee on COVID-19 Recovery and
Neighborhood Investments
