Sharing this important update and message from Maria Pavlou Kalban regarding draft ordinance regarding SB9. Please review with your land use committees and boards:

The draft Ordinance on SB 9 that we wrote and presented to CM Koretz has been presented and moved by CM Blumenfield and seconded by CM Raman!  We are very pleased.

We now need all the neighborhood groups and neighborhood councils to send in letters of support or Community Impact Statements asap.  We are now trying to get this to the City Council for a vote before they adjourn for the year. This is currently referred to the PLUM committee of the City Council.  We don’t want it to die there.

This motion is what we had wanted except they removed the affordability and notification clauses because Nury Martinez has introduced another Ordinance that addresses land speculation and affordability.  We were disappointed but pleased with the rest of the motion.
Please let’s all show our united strength and post a letter on the City Clerk file and send an email to your Council Member requesting their yes vote on this motion. Remember this does not stop SB 9 but addresses areas of the areas in the bill that allow for some local control ( if acted on).
