Plan for a Healthy Los Angeles will be at City Council March 31

We are very excited to share that on March 23rd, the Planning and Land Use Management Committee approved of the Plan for a Healthy Los Angeles. As part of the final stage of the approval process, a hearing for the Plan will be held by the City Council on Tuesday, March 31st at 10 am in City Hall Room 340. Condition Compliance Unit Ordinace will be at PLUM on March 24

Please note that a proposed ordinance which includes fees to allow the Planning Department’s Condition Compliance Unit to expand its current staffing level and more importantly to cover additional monitoring functions will be scheduled for PLUM Committee on March 24, 2015 at City Hall.

Education Program:  CEQA.  Los Angeles City Land Use Committees have a significant role in the review of discretionary projects in our communities. Part of this review includes consideration of the environmental impacts of a project. The March PlanCheckNC meeting will  give a review of the City’s environmental review process under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), including the public input process. This workshop will provide information on environmental determinations, types of environmental documents, the CEQA statues and City implementing ordinances and Significance Thresholds used to inform the environmental review process.  The program will also include the latest updates from the State and how Land Use Committees can better participate in the environmental review process.
