LA Housing Element 2013-2021

Dear Housing Element interested parties and Task Force members:

The Department of City Planning has released the revised 2013-2021 Update to the Housing Element of the General Plan, as well as the associated Staff Report, in preparation for the September 26, 2013 City Planning Commission meeting. SPECIAL MEETING: Building & Safety and the Planning Department

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT — Focus group meetings are underway across the City.  NC Alliances, Community Organizations and Neighborhood Councils are being asked to participate.  PlanCheckNC will hold their meeting on Saturday, September 14  NEW DATE: SEPTEMBER 21 Tentative location is North Valley Neighborhood City Hall in Tujunga. Time: 10 a.m.

Below is a note from the City Administrative Office regarding the focus group meetings:

As you may know, the City has will be establishing a new development services department on January 1, 2014.  As part of that process, the CAO has hired a management consultant to assist in implementation of the new department and to get stakeholder feedback, ideas, and concerns on the new department.

If possible, we would like to schedule a meeting with the Plan Check NC in the next two-three weeks so that the consultant can hear your feedback and provide information about the new department.  We are under a very tight time frame given the January implementation date–otherwise we would have more flexibility in scheduling.  We will also be providing a workshop on this topic at the Congress of Neighborhoods as well as doing additional focus groups with NC groups.  As those other meetings are scheduled, we will let you know in case your members wish to attend those meetings as well.

The amount of time needed will depend on the level of interest your group has on the subject; we are flexible on the amount of time but think 20 minutes would be the least amount of time necessary for a very brief presentation of the project followed by a q/a session.
