Mobility Element Notice of Preparation (NOP) of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and scoping meetings

The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning will be preparing an EIR for the Mobility Element Update. We have prepared a Notice of Preparation (NOP), which was released to the public today and is available to download (you can also open the attached files). As outlined in the NOP, the EIR will address air quality, acquisitions and displacement, land use and planning, noise and vibration, safety and security, and traffic and parking. The public comment period begins April 4, 2013 and will close on May 6, 2013.

We will be hosting two scoping meetings (in the Valley and Central City) that will include a brief presentation of the projects to be addressed in the EIR as well as an open house format during which the public can provide comments. The scoping meetings are an opportunity for the public to provide input on questions it would like to see answered in the EIR. We encourage community members to identify what should be analyzed in the EIR, but remember to provide comments on the scope, content, and specificity of the report.
