Cell Tower/WTF Regulation

Cell Tower/WTF Regulation

To Organizations and Persons Interested in Reform of Cell Tower/WTF (wireless telecommunications facilities) Regulation:

Please see the Council Public Works Committee agenda below.  The matter of the Final Cell Tower Report to Council will be heard on:

6/15 at 2pm in City Hall, Rm. 1010

We urge you or a representative of your organization to attend —
It is very important to show City-wide support for new, more
protective regulations in regard to public right-of-way (PROW) WTF!

For your information, the Los Angeles WTF Working Group plans to write the PWC to indicate that although we are calling for enactment of a comprehensive new ordinance uniformly regulatiing all WTF, we generally support the City Attorney’s recommendations for changes in PROW regulations (including elimination of the utility pole exemption, expanding notice and adding aesthetic considerations).

We will also request enactment of additional important, reasonable provisions not specifically recommended by the C.A. (e.g., extending appeal rights to interested persons/NCs/CCs/HOAs; establishing meaningful set-backs from dwellings/parks/schools; requiring certifiication of compliance with FCC RF emissions standards); and we will urge that a temporary moratorium be put in place in regard to PROW WTF while new regulations are being drafted.

Please feel free to forward this email to anyone interested, including members of the media.

Thank you.
