Update on Hillside Area Amendment

Update on Hillside Area Amendment

Greetings All:

I just wanted to give you all a status update regarding the Hillside Area Amendment (not the Baseline Hillside Ordinance), in light of information which was recently brought to my attention.

Per the City Clerk’s preparation of the City Council’s Action on the Hillside Area Amendment (unanimously approving the proposal), the Ordinance is still needs to be prepared and signed by the City Attorney’s Office. It should essentially be the same action, just in their particular format. This is a step normally taken by the City Clerk’s Office after the Planning & Land Use Management Committee issues its recommendation and before the City Council makes a decision on a matter, but in this case was not done this way. Once that document is prepared, the Ordinance will move towards being in effect. At this time I do not have a specific effective date, but I can tell you that it should be approximately 45 days after this is addressed.

It is my understanding that this situation does not change the fact that the City Council has approved this amendment, but is only a formality that needs to be taken care of. When there is any further change in status, I will be sure to let you all know.

Sincerely,
